Youth coach in New York accused of inappropriate online contact with young people

A 21-year-old man who worked as a youth sports coach in Upstate New York has been arrested after police say he sent sexual messages and images to at least two minors through Snapchat. The incidents reportedly happened between roughly one week and over a month. Investigators say no physical contact occurred between the coach and the victims, but the nature of the communications raised serious concerns. The first tip came from a person required by law to report suspected child abuse. They told authorities that a child under 12 received inappropriate material from someone who coached local youth sports. Police later found a second underage victim, this one under 17, who had also received similar messages during the same timeframe. Authorities charged the man with six serious crimes, including sending explicit content to minors and attempting to involve children in sexual performances.
