Young Lives, Big Impact: The HPV Vaccine's Success Story
USAThursday, November 28, 2024
The US has made some progress, with vaccination rates hitting 78. 5 percent in 2021. But they haven't really improved much since then. Australia, on the other hand, is doing great with nearly 86 percent of people vaccinated. They might even eliminate cervical cancer by 2028! Around the world, if vaccination rates improve, the HPV vaccine could wipe out cervical cancer in 149 countries by the year 2100. It's not just women who benefit, though. The HPV vaccine also protects men against cancers like anal, penile, and oral cancers.
But here's something to think about: why hasn't the US seen the same success as Australia? And what can we do to improve our vaccination rates? It's important to keep pushing for better health outcomes.
