Woman Sentenced for Sharing Child Abuse Images

A 29‑year‑old woman from Mount Clemens was handed a sentence of 60 days in jail and five years of probation after admitting to distributing child sexual abuse material on her computer. The judge ruled in March 2025 following a series of court delays. The investigation began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that the defendant was uploading illegal content. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office took up the case in early March, gathering evidence of her online activity.

In court, she pleaded no contest to three counts of distribution. As part of the ruling, she must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years and join databases that track offenders who have harmed children. She will also surrender any devices used during the crimes. The prosecutor highlighted that possession or sharing of such material is a serious threat to children, emphasizing the need for strict enforcement. The defendant had earlier faced eight charges related to possession and computer‑related crimes, but those were dropped when she entered the plea. She was sent to jail with a six‑day credit, reducing her time served by that amount.
