Why Top Private Schools Face Parents’ Worry
Chicago, USAThursday, January 23, 2025
Parents are also frustrated by a lack of transparency. It's hard to figure out what’s happening in schools, like how the number of administrators has grown while student numbers haven't. Even in Texas, parents were surprised to learn about book bans. At Lab, even the university had to step in when the science department used land acknowledgements without clearance.
The real problem might be that parents aren’t fully aware of what's going on. This lack of understanding could be leading to this mission drift and political involvement. School choice won’t work if parents are kept in the dark. What schools really need is a clear conversation about their purpose.
