Why Are Black Men Blamed for Democratic Party Troubles?

Former President Obama recently sparked controversy by suggesting that Black men aren't enthusiastic about voting for Vice President Kamala Harris. He implied that these men might be hesitant to support a woman president, which has caused quite a stir. This assumption, however, doesn't hold up. Back in 2016, 81% of Black men voted for Secretary Hillary Clinton, compared to only 32% of white men. Even now, 72% of Black men under 50 support Harris.

If white men showed the same level of support, they'd be praised. So, why are Democratic leaders like Obama blaming Black men? It's because they might be trying to prepare an excuse in case Harris loses to former President Trump. This seems unfair. The Democratic Party should be doing more to understand and address the concerns of Black men, instead of making them scapegoats. Black men have valid reasons for feeling overlooked. They care deeply about issues like the economy, jobs, and the justice system. If the party isn't addressing these issues effectively, it's not the fault of Black men. It's the party's responsibility to win their support, not to blame them. Let's remember, Black men are a crucial part of the Democratic Party and deserve respect, not lectures.
