What's Hurting Us After Covid?
Friday, January 31, 2025
So, what does this mean for us post-COVID? Well, it means we need to take a good, hard look at how we're treating pain. We need to consider both the physical and emotional parts of our health to get a full picture.
We can't just focus on one side of the seesaw and ignore the other. We need to figure out how these two sides work together and how they've changed since the pandemic. The pandemic forced many people into isolation. Is that a reason why people are feeling more pain? It's possible. Are the long-term effects of the isolation from the pandemic making people feel more pain? It's possible. Are the treatments we have for pain not working as well as they used to because we are not considering the isolation part of the pain? It's possible. There are a lot of questions that need to have answers.
It's time to reassess our approach to post-COVID healthcare and make sure we're considering all the risk factors, not just the ones that are easy to see. We need to stop ignoring the mental and emotional parts of our health. We need to stop treating people like they are machines. We are people and we need to be treated that way.
