What the Next Few Days Will Bring to Massachusetts Weather

Massachusetts, USAThursday, May 14, 2026
Massachusetts will see a shift in weather over the next couple of days. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to pass through before making way for sunshine by the weekend. Tuesday night will stay cool with temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. A storm system from the west is on track to reach the state overnight, bringing rain and potential thunderstorms. By Thursday morning, showers will begin spreading across Massachusetts. After noon, the chance of thunderstorms increases. Daytime highs will hover around the upper 50s to low 60s before temperatures drop back into the upper 40s at night. The pattern continues into Friday morning, with rain expected to ease off around 2 p. m. This leaves behind a mix of cloudy and clear patches. Temperatures will stay mild during the day in the mid 50s to low 60s but will fall again at night into the mid 40s to low 50s.
Weekend plans look much better across most of the state. Saturday and Sunday promise bright sunshine and warmer temperatures. Most areas will hit the mid 70s during the day, while nights cool down to the mid 50s. Coastal towns may see slightly lower highs in the upper 60s to low 70s due to ocean breezes. Inland places, especially along the Connecticut River Valley, could warm up even more, reaching the low 80s.
