Eli Manning, the former quarterback for the New York Giants, has been left out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame for 2025. This might be a surprise to some, but the signs are clear that the wait could be a long one.

Manning's candidacy didn't exactly light a fire under the selection committee. He was one of 15 chosen for the semifinalist round, but the committee didn't like him enough to include him in the final seven.

 His competition is what makes it hard to predict his chances. Brees and Rivers will be eligible in 2026. Brees is an obvious choice for the Hall of Fame, and Rivers? Well, who knows if he'll have more support than Manning.

A year later, Ben Roethlisberger is up for grabs. He has six Pro Bowls and two Super Bowl rings, though his first Super Bowl performance was lackluster.

Then, in 2028, Tom Brady becomes eligible. Everybody knows what that means for Manning.

Eli Manning might have to wait until 2029 for a serious shot at the Hall of Fame. The committee needs 80% support for a selection.  He will have to wait and see. 2026-2028 is a challenge for him to make it.

Manning is a 2-time Super Bowl champion and won MVP awards for both games. He was 11-time Pro Bowl selection and even won the NFL's Man of the Year award in 2016.  This is impressive, but there is more to it

There are bigger names than Manning on the waiting list. The competition is tough.  Manning will be up against the likes of Drew Brees and Tom Brady. These are two of the most accomplished quarterbacks of all time. This is a tough match.

This could mean Manning's Hall of Fame hopes could be in trouble. Only a few players have had to wait eight years or more.  This could be a long road to the Hall of Fame for Manning.
