Weight Loss Drugs: Not Covered by Most Large Companies

The survey also shows that more than half of these companies don't even know if they cover the drugs.

This is a concern because obesity affects nearly 40% of adults in the U.S. Some doctors argue that the root problem is the drugs' high cost, making widespread coverage challenging. If a lot of employees use these expensive drugs, it might lead to higher health plan costs or even bankruptcy. Although employers recognize the drugs' importance, they're cautious about covering them due to the financial burden.
