Owning land also makes a difference. People with land aren't as affected by weather changes when deciding on their ideal family size. Interestingly, women want more kids in hotter conditions but keep a balance between boys and girls. Men, on the other hand, don't change the number of kids they want but prefer more sons. It's like they're planning for the future, knowing they'll need more hands to work the farm.
