Vice President Kamala Harris' Campaign Focuses on Empowering Black Men
Washington D.C., USATuesday, October 15, 2024
Cedric Richmond, a former Louisiana Representative and co-chair of Harris's campaign, highlighted the agenda's goal to equip Black men with the necessary tools to thrive. This includes helping them buy homes, support their families, launch businesses, and build wealth. Quentin Fulks, the Harris campaign's principal deputy campaign manager, emphasized the need to prioritize speaking to both Black men and women about the challenges they face. Fulks also pointed out that the campaign aims to address the long-standing lack of interest and investment in attracting Black men by Democrats.
Pollster Cornell Belcher, however, cautioned that the campaign should focus more on encouraging Black men to vote rather than worrying about their potential support for Donald Trump. Belcher highlighted that a low turnout among African Americans in crucial areas like Milwaukee could significantly impact the election outcome.
