Vaccines vs. Virus: The Race to Beat COVID-19
Sunday, March 9, 2025
There are five vaccines leading the pack right now. They're all in the final stages of testing. BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273 are based on messenger RNA, a new type of vaccine technology. AZD1222 and Ad26. COV2. S use a different approach, with a modified virus to deliver instructions to our cells. CoronaVac is an inactivated virus vaccine, which means the virus is killed so it can't cause disease but can still teach our immune system.
But, vaccines aren't the only solution. We also need to keep doing the basics, like wearing masks and washing hands. And, we need to support those who are most at risk. The pandemic has shown us that health is global. What happens in one country can affect us all. So, we need to work together, share information, and support each other.
Vaccines are a big part of the solution. But, they're not the only part. We need to keep learning, adapting, and working together. Only then can we beat this virus and build a healthier, more resilient world. We must think critically about the information we receive and make informed decisions. This is not just about us, it's about everyone.
