Upgrading to Windows 11 24H2: A Fresh Look
Wednesday, October 16, 2024
So, how do you get Windows 11? The simplest way is to check for updates on a compatible, up-to-date Windows 10 PC. If you're not seeing the update, or if you want to download the new OS just once for multiple computers, there are other methods.
Microsoft offers several ways to manually download Windows 11. One is the Installation Assistant, which you install on your PC to trigger an upgrade via Windows Update. Another method is using the Media Creation Tool, which helps you create a bootable USB drive or download an ISO file. You can use this USB drive to perform a clean install or run the Setup app from within Windows 10 for a normal upgrade. You can also burn the ISO to a DVD, but USB drives, even old ones, are faster.
