Unraveling Cold Cases: A Cop's New Adventure

- Marcus McGhee: Venko's new trainee. Together, they work the night shift at the 7th Precinct, known to be the toughest shift.
The Plot
Venko and McGhee are assigned to a cold case that is similar to a recent report. As they start digging, they find surprising connections.
The book dives into police politics, featuring a tyrannical captain who has it out for Venko. The officers are burdened with pointless paperwork, often recycling old reports to get through it. The use of body cameras becomes a big issue, and Internal Affairs tries to frame Venko, pressuring McGhee to sign a false statement.
The Language and Characters
The language in the book is rated soft R. The characters are flawed but not racist or misogynistic. Venko has a sweet relationship with an elderly blind neighbor who gives him coffee and cryptic advice before he goes to work.
The Twist
The story takes a twist into science fiction, with multiple surprises.
