Ainoha's journey began in Paraguay, where she left in 2013 to start a new life in Spain. Unfortunately, her story took a tragic turn when she was found hanged on a farm in Girona, Spain, in August 2018. The local community had no idea who she was. The breakthrough came in March 2025. Paraguayan authorities matched her fingerprints, provided by Spain, to their records. This match was possible thanks to the Interpol appeal launched in 2023. It was a significant step forward in the "Identify Me" campaign. The campaign had previously identified Rita Roberts, a British woman found murdered in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1992. Relatives recognized her by a distinctive tattoo.
