Unmasking Perpetrators: A New DNA Detection Method in Sexual Assault Cases
UnknownMonday, January 6, 2025
To see how well it works, scientists compared LAMP with three other tests: acid phosphatase, microscopic examination, and Y-STR profiling. They used 92 real case samples from sexual assaults. Guess what? LAMP did just as well as Y-STR profiling, which is a big deal in the forensics world.
This means LAMP could be a game-changer. It might help solve more cases and bring justice to victims. However, more research is needed to make the most of this new tool.
