Imagine scientists diving into the microscopic world of food. They are experts who dive into the world of sugars. They team up with computers and mimic ideas from how brains work to figure out how sugars can break down these tiny things. They did this with a unique computer tool. The scientists put the focus  on the shapes and changes of these little molecules. One type of sugary molecule they really got to know was maltose.

Scientists had to sift through massive amounts of computer generated data. They were looking for the most valuable pieces of information that could help them move forward. They found many ways sugars could break down.

But why does all of this matter?  It can help us make better medicines. This would help a lot of people in big ways. A bunch of sugars go into a big mess of data. They are designed to help us make better food and better medicines.   They will help us improve our medicines and design better food.  Scientists are finding new ways to break down sugars and try to improve the tools.   And that helps us with lots of things we didn't think about before. There are more ways to break sugars apart. It will help us understand how medicine works.  The big deal here is that, using a computer model, they can figure out what happens to different sugars in a few days only.  The process can be made better.

But the scientists are still working on a couple of things.    They are still working on how to make their tools better. They are doing this to improve the accuracy of their models.  The tools scientists used are not there yet. The results of this study are not a finished product.   They have a lot of data to sort through
