The human brain remains one of the most intricate and least understood organs.  Ex-vivo MRI scans, which are performed on brains outside the body, provide a unique window into this complexity.  These scans allow for detailed anatomical mapping and integration with tissue studies.  This makes them incredibly useful for both basic research and clinical investigations into healthy and diseased brains.  However, ex-vivo MRI comes with its own set of hurdles.
