Uncovering the Unseen: The Uncus and Its Arterial Branches
Sunday, December 8, 2024
Out of the 594 branches detected, 130 were terminal branches. In 80 out of the 120 hemispheres, uncal branches were present. Interestingly, 30 of these uncal branches arose as the first branch of the AChA. The variability in the number of uncal branches originating from the AChA ranged from 1 to 4. On average, these branches tended to emerge from the midpoint of the AChA.
The study also revealed that in 64 hemispheres, there were morphological variations in the origin of these uncal branches. The researchers believe that understanding these details can help in minimizing errors during surgical procedures, highlighting the clinical importance of their findings.
