UN Aid Worker's Secret Life as Hamas Commander Revealed
Gaza, PalestineSaturday, October 26, 2024
Itiwi had been working for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) since 2022. In July, Israel sent an official letter to the UNRWA, listing 100 staff members suspected of ties to violent paramilitary groups like Hamas. Itiwi was among those listed. The UNRWA confirmed Itiwi's death and acknowledged receiving Israel's letter. However, they claim further communication from Israel did not provide additional information about Itiwi.
In response, Israel demanded action from the UN, calling for a full investigation of UNRWA employees and their potential ties to the October 7 terrorist attack.
