The U. S. is getting impatient with the slow progress in the Ukraine-Russia peace talks.  The U. S. access to Ukraine's vast mineral resources, which could lead to significant investments and infrastructure modernization.  The framework for the deal had stalled in February, but negotiations have since resumed.  The U. S. is hoping to get this deal done soon, as it would be a big step forward in their relationship with Ukraine.

        The U. S. has been working with European allies to try and broker a peace deal, and they seem to be making some progress.  The U.         Meanwhile, Russia has been keeping up its attacks on Ukrainian cities, with deadly strikes happening almost daily.  Just this week, Russia hit Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, with cluster munitions, wounding nearly 100 people, including six children.  Russia also targeted a bakery in Sumy, killing a customer and wounding an employee.  These attacks come just days after missiles killed at least 34 people during Palm Sunday celebrations in the same city.  The situation on the ground is dire, and it's clear that a peaceful resolution is needed as soon as possible.
