''Twenty Years of Tackling Obesity: Lessons from the ROOS''
USAThursday, January 23, 2025
ROOS has made lots of progress, especially in areas like fairness and reducing obesity stigma. But there's still work to do. Too many tools for preventing and treating obesity aren't being used enough. Moving forward, ROOS suggests: bringing more people access to these tools, figuring out how to best use new tech in obesity care, dealing with fairness, education, and stigma issues, and considering the impact of local cultures, policies, and social norms. The hope is that the past 10 years' lessons will drive even more progress in the next decade.
