Trump's Third Term: A Bold or Unconstitutional Move?
NATIONAL HARBOR, USAFriday, February 21, 2025
The Third Term Project is still in its early stages, focusing on gaining support from Republican lawmakers, especially those in the House Freedom Caucus. They hope to rally more Republicans to support their cause and amend the Constitution accordingly.
Critics, however, argue that this move is unconstitutional and goes against the 22nd Amendment, which states that no person can be elected to the presidency more than twice. Trejo, however, claims that the founding fathers did not originally intend to have term limits for presidents, and that this amendment was added later.
Attendees at CPAC have praised Trump's swift actions in his first month in office, including declaring a national emergency at the southern border and banning transgender athletes from women's sports. They see these actions as a sign of his determination to bring change to the country. Some attendees, like Nick Passino and Jane Stewart, have described the event as full of hope and excitement.
Even international allies, like former British Prime Minister Liz Truss, have expressed support for Trump's return to power. She sees it as a sign that people are ready for bold changes and are willing to vote for them.
