They had a big plan up their sleeves: a $500 billion AI project called Stargate. This isn't just any AI project; it's about creating energy-efficient data centers to power these AI tools. The first location? Abilene, Texas. And the team behind it? SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX as funders, with tech giants like Arm, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and OpenAI as partners. Trump promised jobs—100, 000 of them—and emphasized how these AI campuses would need a lot of electricity. "These are big, beautiful buildings, " he said, clearly excited about the project. Larry Ellison, who Trump dubbed the "CEO of everything, " added that the initial phase includes 10 buildings, each half a million square feet, with plans to expand.
