Tragic Florida Case: Woman Found Guilty of Zipping Boyfriend to Death

In a shocking incident that made headlines four years ago, a woman named Sarah Boone has been found guilty of second-degree murder in central Florida. This verdict comes after a jury of her peers took about 90 minutes to reach a decision on Friday evening. The case revolves around the death of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres, who was zipped inside a suitcase in their Winter Park home. Boone initially told detectives that they were playing hide-and-seek on February 23, 2020. She claimed she went to sleep thinking Torres could get out of the suitcase on his own. However, when she woke up the next morning, she found him unresponsive inside the suitcase.

The truth came to light when detectives found videos on Boone’s phone. These videos showed Torres screaming that he couldn’t breathe and calling out Boone’s name. This evidence was critical in charging Boone with murder. During the trial, Boone tried to defend herself by saying past violent incidents made her fear for her safety.
