The seaside course of Pebble Beach hosted golfers with everything from biting winds to rain.  A cold front turned the final few holes into a challenge for many golfers on the tour.  Some were able to keep their heads above the water, but others, like Rory McIlroy, struggled.  McIlroy was making a comeback until four back-to-back bogeys on the last six holes.  The 11th hole was a turning point for him with the eagle putt.

Tony Finau's round put him in the lead for a while, but his momentum slowed.  He was able to keep up his game by managing some really tough holes.  Tony Finau finished his day, but not before taking a walk on the beach that he claims was worth it.  Tony Finau wasn't alone on the beach.  He finished the day on a good note.  The weather played a big part in the rounds of all the players.  Weather can make or break a round.  Finau had a couple shots that could have gone in the drink, but he made par.  Keeping the ball dry was a big deal.

Bad weather is not the only thing that golfers have to deal with.  Sometimes the game is unpredictable.

The PGA Tour is one of the hardest tours to win.  Tom Kim and Tony Finau were outshined by amateur Andrew Novak.  He did not have to compete in the Masters.  But he did get to win a shiny plaque and a check.  Teaming up with billionaire investor Philippe Laffont was a winning formula.  The pro-am is not just for the pros.  The course is so hard that only 79 pros were able to make the cut.  Ludvig Aberg felt ill and so he had to take his last tee shot on the sidelines.

Strong winds are expected this weekend, and the weather at Pebble Beach is going to be a bit rainy.  The forecast is predicting gusts of up to 30 mph.  The course is a tough one, and it's tougher in bad weather.  The wind and rain make it hard to keep the ball dry and straight.

 Sepp Straka, who was leading the round, said that the wind picked up quickly.  Sepp Straka took a 3-foot putt for par, but missed.  Then he hit a 4-iron shot from 30 feet for a two-putt birdie.  This put him at 14-under 130.  In the first two rounds, no one else was in the lead yet.  He is 3 shots ahead of Russell Henley, who had a 69 at Pebble Beach, and Cam Davis of Australia, who had a 68 at Spyglass Hill.  The best rounds were the 67 of Tony Finau at Spyglass Hill.

 In the PGA Tour, the unpredictability of the game is what makes it exciting.  The golfer has to be ready for anything.  Adjusting to the conditions is key to a good round.  Being ready for the challenges of the game is key to success.  Some golfers have done better than others in the unpredictable weather.  This is what makes the game so interesting.
