According to Downdetector, a website that tracks outage reports, the Los Angeles area was particularly hard-hit, with over 3,000 reports received by 9 a.m. By the afternoon, the number had increased to over 7,800 responses. Nationwide, the website received more than 80,000 reports of outages by Monday afternoon.

In a statement, Verizon acknowledged the issue and apologized for the inconvenience. "Verizon engineers are making progress on our network issue and service has started to be restored," the company said.
