She is also a board member of several organizations, including Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and Stop! Children's Cancer of Palm Beach County.

In 2004, Barbara co-founded the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation. This organization aims to improve access to pediatric healthcare, and it has raised over $200 million. Her dedication to helping others has made her a role model in the community. Her life took a turn from education to golf, but her commitment to helping those in need has made her an exemplary figure.
