First off, this is not the first rodeo for MoviePass. When it kicked off again in 2023, it had something new on its mind: exploring the possibilities of web3 and blockchain technology.

    MoviePass wants to understand if its patrons are interested in this digital ledger concept that puts control of personal data back into the hands of the user online.  Getting deeper into web3 isn't exactly what one would expect from a theatrical service that functions like Netflix but for movie screenings. The new MoviePass is curious about the digital movement. Funny enough, the company raked in funds for their resurrection from a tech firm focused on blockchain solutions.

	The Incredible Shrinking MoviePass.

    Back in 2011, MoviePass began its journey as MoviePass. Which sounds like the bite of a mosquito compared to launching its successful career in 2018. This lower price point may have attracted customers in droves.

    There is a fun paradox; No one was naive enough to think it could work when Ted Farnsworth decided he wanted to grow at all costs. Sticking to the idea that selling customer data would help the company thrive.  A gigantic game of musical chairs with the country's cash and customer loyalty, MoviePass was giving away movies for a pittance, and struggling to keep up with the high cost for the tickets that they were paying for.

    Late 2022,  Ted Farnsworth was caught red-handed and convicted of fraud. .

    A year later, the man who made MoviePass possible was charged with securities and other heavy charges for misleading investors about the company's viability.

    It started with the promise of having one price per person. The new era of MoviePass lets you see a far more limited selection of movies. The biggest package allows just 3-5 movies in a month.  All the while, paying for the size of MoviePass.

    Compared to the competition, we have AMC Theaters, and other major chains that are doing a fantastic job with similar programs. A company with pricing power, MoviePass is not in most cases.

    An unexpected comeback MoviePass.

    These days, everyone is talking about web3 and crypto, but these technologies haven't exactly caught on for everyday use. So why include them?
