The New 96-Team 'Unify League': A Fresh Take on European Football
EuropeWednesday, December 18, 2024
A22 Sports says they've talked to many football clubs, leagues, and groups to make this proposal. They want to tackle problems like high subscription costs for fans, too many games for players, not enough investment in women's football, and dissatisfaction with current European competitions.
The matches would be shown on a new streaming service called Unify, which would be free to watch with ads. This is a big change from the original Super League idea, which had fewer clubs and was backed by some of the biggest teams in Europe. But many clubs and leagues are still against the new Unify League.
