To educate people about the risks of counterfeit pills and substance use.
The Coalition emphasizes that prevention is key, especially with the growing problem of fake and laced pills. They stress that only medications prescribed by healthcare providers are safe. Rose Baier, the director of Chippewa County Criminal Justice Services, shared, "There are so many fake things out there. They can be laced with dangerous substances like fentanyl. It's not just prescription drugs anymore; it could be marijuana or meth. " Throughout the week, the Coalition plans to host more "One Pill can Kill" events in area high schools. These events coincide with Red Ribbon Week, a national campaign that encourages healthy, drug-free choices.
