The statistics say yes. Last year, violent crime in the county increased 8.7%, the seventh-most significant increase in the country. Since the implementation of the sanctuary policy, illegal immigrants have been arrested for heinous crimes, putting residents in danger.
Franklin Viera Guevara, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested for child neglect, child cruelty, and abduction. The county's police department doesn't track crimes committed by undocumented immigrants.
