The Case of Robert Roberson: A Look at Shaken Baby Syndrome
Texas, USAThursday, October 17, 2024
Since Nikki's death, over 30 defendants in similar cases have been exonerated. Roberson maintains his innocence, claiming he found Nikki unconscious after she fell out of bed. Experts argue that the jury wasn't presented with all the facts, including Nikki's previous health issues and Roberson's autism spectrum disorder.
Despite numerous appeals and a great deal of support from scientists, lawmakers, and advocacy groups, Roberson's execution could still proceed. The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles unanimously declined to recommend clemency, and Governor Greg Abbott has yet to make a decision.
