It's also a time when habits are formed that can last a lifetime. If teens don't learn to take care of their teeth now, they might struggle with dental issues for the rest of their lives.  That can mean more trips to the dentist, more pain, and more money spent on dental care.

        So, what can be done? Schools and parents need to step up.  Schools can teach kids about the importance of oral health.  They can also make sure kids have access to toothpaste and toothbrushes.  Parents can model good brushing habits at home and make sure their kids are brushing twice a day.  We need to make oral health a priority.

        Malaysia has come a long way in improving public health. But there's still work to be done.  Oral health might not be the first thing on people's minds, but it's crucial.  We need to start paying more attention to it.  If we want to have a healthier future, we need to start with our teeth.  It's a small step that can make a big difference.
