Tesla’s Updated Model Y Hits Asia-Pacific Roads: What’s New?
Asia PacificWednesday, January 15, 2025
As for the drive, Tesla is offering two options in Australia: rear-wheel drive and a long-range all-wheel drive model. The long-range version promises up to 342 miles (551 km) by WLTP standards, or around 307 miles by US EPA standards. However, US models could differ in battery specs and range.
The timing is significant. In 2024, Tesla saw its first drop in vehicle deliveries since 2012, despite improving in China. The redesigned Model Y will start shipping in China in March 2025 and is expected to reach other markets in a few months, although the US delivery date is still uncertain.
