For example, in Connecticut, counties like Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven are covered. In Illinois, counties such as Cook and Will are included. Each state has its specific list of affected areas. The IRS offers this relief to make things a bit easier for those dealing with the aftermath of disasters. In addition to these specific areas, there's another deadline of May 1 for other regions hit by severe weather events and natural disasters, including areas affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
