The Super Bowl is quickly approaching, and New Orleans is buzzing  with excitement.  The city is partying like it's always five o'clock somewhere. The Super Bowl brings more than just a big game; it also brings major NFL awards.

        The NFL's big night is coming, NFL Honors. This event, airing at 9 p. m. ET on Fox, will feature awards from Coach of the Year to Offensive Player of the Year. Snoop Dogg will host the show at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans. CBS sports team had their own vote on the awards.  However, they considered postseason performance, unlike the NFL's regular season focus.

        CBS Sports' team voted for some surprising winners. Saquon Barkley took home Offensive Player of the Year, while Jared Verse won Defensive Rookie of the Year. Kevin O'Connell was named Coach of the Year.  They also had a tie for MVP between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.  This award was split due to the votes being tied.

        For some fun, Will Brinson ranked all 58 Super Bowls. The top spot went to Super Bowl XLIX, where the Patriots beat the Seahawks 28-24. Super Bowl XLII, with the Giants' upset over the Patriots, came in second. Super Bowl LII, where the Eagles defeated the Patriots 41-33, was third. Other notable games include Super Bowl LI, a thrilling overtime win for the Patriots over the Falcons, and Super Bowl III, where the Jets shocked the Colts 16-7.

        In an interesting matchup, Patrick Mahomes goes up against Vic Fangio, who has faced Mahomes eight times and lost every game. However, Fangio's losses weren't due to Mahomes' dominance alone. Fangio's offenses averaged only 11. 9 points per game against Mahomes, which is tough to overcome in the NFL.

        With the Super Bowl coming up, fans are already thinking about potential Hall of Famers. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce from the Chiefs are almost guaranteed spots in the Hall of Fame. Other players, like Chris Jones and Saquon Barkley, are still waiting on the edge of their seat.

        The NFL is also expanding its reach. In 2026, the Rams will play a regular-season game in Australia. The game will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which can hold over 100, 000 fans. The opponent for this historic game hasn't been announced yet, but it will likely be one of the teams in the Rams' home schedule.

        The Jaguars finally have an offensive coordinator, adding to the busy NFL news cycle.  The NFL is filled with updates and exciting moments as the Super Bowl gets closer.
