While many celebrate peace, a grim reality unfolds in Sudan. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have seized the city of El Fasher, unleashing a wave of violence that has claimed countless lives. This is not new—it has been happening for years—but now, it has escalated to unprecedented levels.

A Foreseen Catastrophe

The world had warnings. Experts sounded the alarm for over two years, yet insufficient action was taken. The United States and other global powers have failed to intervene meaningfully, leaving civilians to bear the brunt of this crisis.

The RSF's Atrocities

Backed by the United Arab Emirates, the RSF has a history of human rights abuses. Satellite imagery now reveals the grim extent of their actions: mass graves and burn piles, evidence of a rapid and brutal campaign of violence.

The Scale of the Tragedy

Nathaniel Raymond, a prominent scholar, analyzed the satellite images and estimates that between 30,000 and 100,000 people may have been killed in just six weeks. This staggering number is comparable to the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and may rival the death toll in Gaza over two years.

A Humanitarian Crisis

This is one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world today. Yet, it remains largely overlooked. The international community must act now to stop the killing and provide aid to the suffering people of Sudan.
