Get ready. Wednesday is going to be a wild weather day here in the Capital region. The weather will be unpredictable.

    Things will start out with a bit of rain. Temperatures will be mild in the morning, with some sunshine around lunchtime, which will boost temperatures in the afternoon. This warming up will fuel storms.

    During the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will roll through the area.  Some of these could be strong. This is especially true after the cold front passes, dry conditions will settle in later in the night.

    The weather will get better on Thursday. Temperatures will be cooler, but it will still feel normal for the time of year. There might be some clouds around, but no rain is expected.

    On Friday, moisture will move over the stalled front, leading to cloudy skies and possible rain.

    Saturday will start off warm and breezy. Temperatures will get close to the high 80s.

    Throughout the weekend, wind speeds will range from 15 mph to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 35 mph. Get ready for a significant change.

    There is a chance of severe thunderstorms late Saturday night. Sunday will be sunny and cooler. Highs will be in the 60s, with lows nearing freezing on Monday. Temperatures will remain below average through Tuesday.

     The Capital region will see 1-3 inches of rain over the next week. The rain will come in fast- moving showers, which won't cause widespread flooding.
