SS Innovations Names New CFO as Robot Surgery Grows

Austin, Texas, USATuesday, July 21, 2026

SS Innovations International has chosen Sarah M. Romano to lead its finance team, starting on August 3.

Romano brings more than twenty years of public‑company finance experience and has helped raise over $100 million for medical technology firms. Her background includes a previous role as CFO at Vicarious Surgical, where she improved the company’s cash flow and balance sheet.

The new hire comes as SS Innovations pushes its SSi Mantra robotic surgery system toward U.S. FDA approval and expands its reach worldwide, opening new markets for its surgical robots.

A recent milestone was the launch of the SS International Centre for Robotics Surgery (SSICRS). The first cohort finished training with 33 professionals from seven countries, demonstrating that SS Innovations values surgeon education as much as the machines it builds.

With Romano on board, the company hopes to manage its growing capital needs more efficiently, help navigate regulatory processes, and secure funding for future projects.
