Spotting a Rare Comet in San Diego
Poway, Calif., USAMonday, October 14, 2024
Local photographer Vishwas Lokesh captured the comet from Poway. He was thrilled to witness something so rare, especially since the last time it passed by, Neanderthals were still around! He hopes future generations or even another species can see it next time.
Another photographer, Vladimir Medvinsky, chased the comet up Palomar Mountain and managed to snap some amazing photos. He's been busy – just a few days before, he captured the northern lights in the same area.
If you missed it on Saturday, don't worry. You'll have another chance around 45 minutes after sunset on Sunday.
