Over on the ice, the Warroad vs. St. Cloud Cathedral boys' hockey game ended in a tie, 2-2, after overtime. John Hirschfeld and Griffin Sturm scored for the Crusaders. In girls' hockey, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton fell to River Lakes, 2-3. Sophie Olson, Peyton Roeske, and Sophia Hess scored for the Stars.
In girls' basketball, Becker narrowly lost to Hill-Murray, 41-44. Adele Changamire led the Bulldogs with 12 points. In another match, Albany faced Duluth Marshall and lost, 26-73. Paisley Ellingson and Molly Goebel led the Huskies with 7 and 6 points, respectively.
These games show how competitive high school sports can be, with every team giving it their all.
