The Calcano Da Silva brothers made history at the MIAA Division 5 track championships.

  • Nathan Calcano Da Silva broke a meet record in the 300 meters, finishing in 34.56 seconds.
  • Aiden Calcano Da Silva secured second place with a time of 34.98 seconds.
  • Aiden also earned a third-place finish in the 55 hurdles, clocking in at 7.84 seconds.

Carver High School's Standout Performances

On the girls' side, Carver High School finished in seventh place as a team.

  • Hazel Butterworth took third in the mile with a time of 5:13 and fifth in the two-mile run at 11:49.
  • Emma Wall won the high jump, tying a meet record with a leap of 5-4.
  • Carly Peterson finished fifth in the same event.
  • Nolan Kenneally placed second in the high jump with a jump of 6-2.

Swimming and Diving: Hingham/Cohasset Leads

In the Division 1 championships:

  • Hingham/Cohasset finished 16th with 51 points.
  • Marshfield/Hanover secured 18th place with 47 points.
  • Ashley Wagner (Hingham/Cohasset) placed ninth in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events.
  • The 400 freestyle relay team from Hingham/Cohasset (Wagner, Emma Izmirlic, Amelia Byrne, and Ella Cignetti) also placed ninth.
  • Anna Tocchio (Marshfield/Hanover) finished seventh in the 100 freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke.

Girls' Hockey Highlights

  • Maddie Cantor (Norwell/Scituate/Abington) scored two goals and assisted on two others, including her 101st career point, in an 8-2 victory over Plymouth.
  • Caroline Gibbons scored two goals, and Natasha Minkus had a goal and three assists.
  • Shae McCarthy scored her first varsity goal.
  • Milton improved to 18-1-1 with a 2-1 overtime win over Malden Catholic, thanks to two goals from Sabrina Stone and outstanding goaltending from Caera Hart.
  • Vivienne Somers recorded a 39-save shutout as Hanover defeated Plymouth, 1-0, with Olivia McCormick scoring the lone goal.

Boys' Hockey Update

  • Aden Zaza and Jake McSweeney scored goals for Stoughton/Brockton in an 8-2 loss to Taunton.

Girls' Basketball: Bridgewater-Raynham Secures Tournament Spot

  • Bridgewater-Raynham secured its 12th consecutive state tournament spot with a 51-41 win over Newton South.
  • Camden Strandberg had a double-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks.
  • Lily Polansky contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
  • Braintree's Frankie Mazzini scored 12 points in a narrow 51-50 loss to Woburn.
