South Reno Restaurant Gets Health Inspection Warning

Reno, Nevada, USAFriday, July 17, 2026
A new restaurant in south Reno was cited during a health inspection that took place at the end of June. The inspectors found problems with handwashing and misdated food items. This place was the only one that did not get a full passing grade for the week of June 27 to July 3, 2026. Washoe County uses four inspection ratings: Pass, Conditional pass, Fail and Close. A Pass means fewer than three critical violations. A Conditional pass covers three to five violations that can be fixed right away. Fail means more than six critical problems but still open for a recheck. Close is used when violations cannot be fixed during the visit and the place must shut until they are.
More than 85 percent of restaurants in Washoe County pass their yearly check. In the last fiscal year, less than 3 percent of inspections ended in a closure or fail. During the week of June 20 to 26, 2026, inspectors found several issues. At a Reno‑Sparks location that earned a Conditional pass, Amici Pizzeria and Bar, staff did not wash hands after touching clothes or dirty dishes. They also left food items without proper date marks. Cooked artichokes, garlic butter, chicken and other foods had no dates or were past their seven‑day shelf life. These mistakes can let bacteria grow and make people sick.
