Morgan Wallen's abrupt departure from the SNL stage raised eyebrows and sparked conversations. Kenan Thompson, a cast member, noticed the unusual move. Wallen performed two songs on the March 29 episode, which was hosted by Mikey Madison. Thompson wondered aloud about Wallen's motives. "What goes through someone's mind when they decide to do something like that? " he asked. Was Wallen unaware of the customary end-of-show rituals? Or was he feeling something specific?

The incident went viral, leading many to speculate about Wallen's experience on the show. Wallen added fuel to the fire with an Instagram post featuring a private jet. The caption read: "Get me to God's country. " This only intensified the rumors that Wallen might not have enjoyed his time on SNL.  Thompson had a few thoughts on the matter. "You see someone before you even get a chance to say hi or good job, and they just leave, " he said. "It's definitely not the usual thing. We're used to everyone sticking around, high-fiving, and saying good job. "

However, sources close to Wallen quickly dismissed any tension. They insisted that Wallen had a great time and that his exit and Instagram post were not meant to offend anyone. A guest at the dress rehearsal confirmed that Wallen's exit during the live taping was similar to his behavior during rehearsals. Thompson compared Wallen's behavior to Prince, who was known for his standoffish demeanor. "It was just different because it felt so sudden, " Thompson said. "And the stage was already small, so his exit was very noticeable. "

Thompson also commented on Wallen's "God's country" remark. "It's a bit strange, " he said. "What exactly is he trying to say? Is he implying that we're not in God's country? Or that we're not all under God's umbrella? " Thompson seemed puzzled but moved on, mentioning the upcoming episodes with Jack Black, Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Jon Ham, and Lizzo.
