Small Wins and Big Surprises in Green Bay High School Sports
Northeast Wisconsin, USASunday, May 17, 2026
Softball saw Wrightstown erase a big early deficit to dominate Waupaca late in the game, winning 19-9. Molly Ruebl and Layla Beyer led the charge with multiple hits and home runs, proving how momentum can flip a game quickly. On the track, Little Chute swept both boys’ and girls’ North Eastern Conference titles, showing depth across their team in sprints, hurdles, and relays.
Some games were closer than they looked. Pulaski barely held off Manitowoc with a 10-9 win, scoring the decisive runs in the last two innings. Kewaunee took advantage of Bonduel’s mistakes, capitalizing on five errors to secure an 11-6 victory. These upsets remind us that in high school sports, teamwork and clutch moments matter just as much as individual talent.
