Getting healthier in 2026 doesn't have to be a huge struggle. Joshua Gilliam, a bodybuilding champ and owner of a fitness center, says it's all about taking it easy at first.
Start Small
- Eat more veggies and protein
- Drink more water
- Get enough sleep
- Exercise for just 30 minutes
Simple Exercises to Get Moving
Gilliam recommends three simple exercises:
- Air Squats: Focus on the lower body (hip flexors and quads)
- Planks: Strengthen the core (upper quads and lower chest)
- Pushups: Target the shoulders, chest, arms, and triceps
Small Changes, Big Results
Kendra Bass, a trainer and nutrition coach, agrees that small changes are key. She says:
- Making big changes all at once can lead to quitting early.
- Start with small habits:
- Eat breakfast if you usually skip it
- Drink an extra bottle of water each day
Find Support
Both Gilliam and Bass suggest finding a community or accountability partner to help stay on track. This can make it easier to stick to your goals and see real progress.
