Small Businesses Get a Break: Court Halts Reporting Rule
Washington, D.C., USAFriday, December 27, 2024
Earlier this month, a different court had put the rule on hold. But then, the Fifth Circuit court decided to let the rule go into effect again. This caused a lot of confusion for small businesses. Now, with the latest decision, the rule is on hold once more. This is a big deal because, if the rule isn’t stopped, it could affect about 32 million small businesses in the country.
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is fighting against this rule in court. They think it’s too complicated and burdensome for small business owners. They also support a law that would get rid of the rule permanently.
The NFIB is known for protecting the rights of small business owners in courts all over the country. They are currently involved in more than 40 cases in federal and state courts, including the U. S. Supreme Court.
