Sinners Scores Record Seven Wins at 2026 Dorian Awards

The 2026 Dorian Film Awards saw a dominant performance by the film Sinners, which captured seven top prizes and set a new record for the event. Ryan Coogler, who directed and wrote the movie, earned both Best Film and Director of the Year honors, while his screenplay also took home the Screenplay award. The film was further recognized in genre categories, winning both Visually Striking Film and Genre Film of the Year. Composer Ludwig Göransson received Best Film Music for his work on Sinners, and Coogler was honored with the Wilde Artist of the Year award for the film’s cultural impact. Coogler’s work was praised for its bold storytelling, strong ensemble cast, and exploration of community resilience across historically marginalized narratives. Other notable winners included KPop Demon Hunters for Animated Film, Pillion from A24 as LGBTQ Film of the Year, and Netflix’s The Perfect Neighbor taking Documentary of the Year. Rose Byrne earned Film Performance of the Year for her role in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, while Amy Madigan won Supporting Film Performance of the Year for Weapons. Special recognitions were given to Tim Curry with the Timeless Star Award, Gregg Araki as LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer, and Eva Victor receiving the Rising Star Award.
