Silverwood’s Summer: New Owners, Same Experience
Silverwood Theme Park, Idaho, Sandpoint, USAFriday, June 5, 2026
Other familiar events, such as the spooky Scarywood event in October and the water‑park opening at Boulder Beach, will go ahead as planned. The Herschends have toured the park several times and are learning how their experience from other properties might help, but no major changes are slated for this summer.
While the park’s founder Gary Norton remains involved—visiting to ensure smooth operations—the new owners promise a ten‑year plan that respects the legacy built by Norton and his family. Executive director Paul Norton and HR manager Michelle Sheets will stay on, according to the park’s public‑relations team.
There are minor updates, however. The High Moon Saloon near the entrance now offers gourmet hot dogs and corndogs topped with bacon jam or corn. A group of middle‑school girls on a school trip noted that they were aware of the sale and expected change, hoping for new thrills and shaded rest spots.
Overall, the message is clear: the upcoming season will feel familiar to regular visitors. The Herschend family plans to enhance the experience behind the scenes while keeping the core elements that fans love.
